Bayreuth to Bamberg - 76 miles

Well, I guess the first thing to say was it was SUPPOSED to be 60 miles!  But like most RAGBRAIs, you get surprised at times.

I started about 830 after having coffee at breakfast and getting car and bags loaded.   Got the bike ready and headed out after that.   Getting out of town was the first challenge.... Signage was pretty good most of the way but left something to be desired in some areas.  Like at the start.  But the ride was gorgeous!!  Here are a few pictures......
Leaving town.... I saw theis 3 times!

Just a nice view....

Concrete bike.....

Through the woods...

Who said Germans are boring??

Small town church....

Maypole in small town...

These are a couple of the guys I met on the ride.   They kept wanting to take me to Biergartens.... But they swore they weren't Sailors or on Team Navy.

Grand old Cathedral on the hilltop....

Sehr schön...... Very pretty!

View from outside of our hotel window... Altes Rathaus (Town Hall) right over the river.

Hope you enjoyed some of these..... I'll end with this pretty field of poppies.

Sleep well..... I will!

  1. I love the little painted house. It looks like you have to walk at a slant.

  2. I have yet to see corn fields. Maybe the change in scenery is a good idea.
